Jessica Haberman, co-operator of Storyteller Farm, was tired of trying to DIY the farm’s website.
Jessica was spinning her wheels designing a new website. She was overworked and out of time — trying to balance raising four children, renovating the property, and all while caring for the active farm’s chickens, goats, and cows.
Jessica knew there was a huge market for their delicious, farm-fresh products.
She needed a way to reach people online and expand the family business beyond their local relatives and friends.
Jessica reached out to Studio Anansi to design a professional, welcoming website that clearly conveyed their family’s story and explained the value of their farm products. She wanted the website to sell their beef while being simple to manage and easy to scale as the farm continues to grow.
A responsive and strategy-driven WordPress website with unique, engaging design elements.
Jessica asked for a website that conveyed trust, nostalgia, and her family’s passion for sharing accessible, farm-fresh food.
We designed a new WordPress website for Storyteller Farm with vintage vibes on a modern framework.
The website is responsive and adapts to all screen sizes, so readers will appreciate learning about Jessica’s farm and family — no matter what device they use.
The website’s main mission is to sell Storyteller Farm products.
We creates an online ordering system for customers to order pasture-raised beef, their main product.
Because the site is built on WordPress, it’ll be straightforward to add future e-commerce features and new products down the line.
We also showed the behind-the-scenes of farm life without being too up-close-and-personal about beef production.
Her customers want to know how the cows are raised and treated…but nobody wants to picture a cute little cow when they take a big bite of burger!
We used photos to share the authentic farm story, while ensuring that the order process was transparent and clear.
Jessica also wanted the website to be visually interesting with interactive elements to engage visitors.
We used videos and subtle animations to create interesting content layouts.
Fading text and changing button sizes also keep the pages engaging without distracting from the site content.
The custom blog will be easy for Jessica to manage and update herself for years to come.
Jessica has an active blog schedule planned with posts about their farm and family.
She wanted to be able to easily add new photos and stories about the farm as the seasons change and her family grows.
Other site features include:
- Retro branding
- Nostalgia-inspiring fonts
- Easy contact forms
- Responsive design for smartphones
- Social media integrations
- Easily-managed blog features
- Online Terms and Policies to protect the farm
As with all our website designs, we also included integrations with agency-level SEO tools, plus Google Analytics and Search Console.
Thanks to these features, the website has started with a strong SEO foundation and room for future growth.
It was a pleasure to work with Jessica and create a new website for Storyteller Farm!
