And now, on to today’s step…

Day 1) Update CTAs

Let’s kick off day one! Today, we’re going to make sure that your webpages are working for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Start by listing the most important and popular pages on your site. (I suggest starting with your top five.)

Each page should have a job. Some webpages sell your products and services. Others collect emails for your newsletter. Others save you time with an FAQ and easy contact form.

Next, review the calls to action (CTAs) on each page. Place CTAs strategically to engage your audience and fulfill each page’s goal.

Each CTA is a valuable opportunity to guide visitors through your site.

However, broken links and poorly thought out CTAs are quick ways to erode trust and discourage online visitors.

Ever visited a website with links to missing pages? It doesn’t exactly inspire confidence!

Check that the CTAs on your top pages and posts check these boxes:

1) Functional (of course)

2) Aligned with your brand and voice

3) Clear (use direct language…this isn’t the time to be witty or cutsie!)

4) Linked to relevant next step

That’s it for Day 1! Take a break, and we’ll move on tomorrow.
